How does grading work on Acellus? ›

Acellus will automatically grade work entered into the program and provide a score which will be easily viewable to parents through the parent interface. Because the student is working from home, parents are responsible for supervising the learning experience and for ensuring attendance and progress within the program.

Graduates of Acellus Academy have been accepted by prestigious universities and the military, and are prepared with the skills required to be successful members of the workforce.

Special Lesson assignments are graded automatically by the Acellus Writing Tutor® program. Writing Tutor goes through a 4-step process to check the student's assignment.

The Acellus Classes tool allows teachers to see an overview of the progress and grades of the students taking their Acellus Class. They can see which students are making extra progress and which students are falling behind, as well as each student's current grade and the topic they are working on.

Furthermore, although the letter grade is standardized, the grading practices are not. This means that what one teacher would score as an A, another could consider a B, depending on how strict their grading principles are. Limited: The grading system may not accurately reflect what a student is learning.

Traditionally, the grades are A+, A, A−, B+, B, B−, C+, C, C−, D+, D, D− and F, with A+ being the highest and F being lowest. In some cases, grades can also be numerical. Numeric-to-letter-grade conversions generally vary from system to system and between disciplines and status.

Examples of objectionable content brought to our attention include: Racist depictions of Black Americans. At least one question that perpetuates Islamophobic stereotypes. A lesson that uses words and images associated with a firearm.

Acellus Academy's GPA is calculated on an unweighted 4.0 scale.

Acellus Academy core courses have been reviewed and approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

By default, Acellus does not factor Attendance scores into the students' overall grades. However, teachers can decide whether or not to factor in Attendance and can adjust how much weight to give it when calculating student grades.

Can you retake a class in Acellus? ›

Students are able to retake steps for extra credit. This allows them to revisit previous lessons and improve their score. This feature is available through the student account when they are working within a course.

Acellus is an online learning system used by educational institutions to provide instruction in various subjects. The answer key PDF allows students to check and verify their answers, and also helps teachers in assessing student progress and grading assignments.

Acellus has released a new Special Lessons Grading function which allows teachers to score assignments on a student-by-student basis through the Student Details page. This tool provides another layer of flexibility to the existing grading options.

We recently announced the Exam Recovery Mode, a way in Acellus for students who fail an exam to automatically have another chance to review the material and retake the exam. However, there are many students who actually pass an exam yet feel they have not done their best and would like another try.

A grade can be calculated from a blend of daily work, quizzes, tests, reports, or other components of the learning process. The weight of each part can differ between topics. Usually the daily work, quizzes and tests can each bear one-third percentage of the overall grade.

Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated by determining the total point value of your letter grade and dividing by the number of credits attempted. Failing grades do not earn points, but the attempted credits are included in GPA calculations.

When students fail an exam they begin 'Exam Recovery'. Here, students are presented with the problems that they missed on the exam including the wrong answers that they entered - and given another chance to work the problems.
